Youth & Young Adult High Risk Services

BCC’s Youth & Young Adult High Risk services are a lifeline and a catalyst for change for youth and young adults, ages 14-29 years, struggling with the impact of severe and persistent mental illness and/or  substance use. Youth/young adults who need a broad array of services and intensive supports, and who would benefit from this model, are identified during BCC's Clinical Admissions process.

BCC recognizes youth and young adults with serious mental illness often have experienced frequent hospitalization, foster care or criminal justice involvement, difficulties related to education and employment, family abandonment or conflict and/or homelessness. Many have concurrent substance use disorders, disabilities, and/or functional challenges.

The multidisciplinary and diverse high risk team of professionals emphasizes independence, rehabilitation, employment, advocacy and integration.

These services are provided 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year in a team-driven approach. They include vocational/educational services, housing assistance, financial management, life skills instruction, peer support and psychiatric and medication management.
